What customers ask before buying
The questions before a decision about the phone system, AI quality, data protection, price, integrations and acceptance, with answers you can back up.
Before a company buys, it asks questions that often sound like objections. Usually they're checking questions: the customer wants to know whether they can rely on bhomy. Answer them briefly, factually and with evidence they can check themselves. How to deal with real resistance is described under Objections.
Phone system and call forwarding
Do we have to change our number?
No. The familiar number stays where it is. The easiest route is call forwarding to a bhomy number, if desired only when nobody answers or the line is busy. If the provider or the phone system supports SIP, you connect the number directly. Porting isn't necessary, see Connect a number.
Does this work with our phone system?
Any system that can forward to an external number works with call forwarding. For a direct connection, there are guides for 3CX, Yeastar, easybell, Telnyx, Twilio and Zadarma, see SIP phone systems. The SIP connection is available in all plans.
Can the agent connect back to a colleague?
Yes, in the Pro and Individual plans. The agent hands the conversation over to a phone number or via SIP to an extension, see Transfer to a person. The handover is direct: the colleague takes over the conversation, and the details are in the email after the call.
What happens if several people call at the same time?
In the Starter plan, the agent handles 1 conversation at a time, in the Pro plan 3, and in the Individual plan as many as we agree. Anyone who calls while all lines are busy hears a waiting announcement and is connected as soon as a line becomes free, see Technical basics.
AI quality
Does the agent make up answers?
The agent answers from its prompt and from the documents in the knowledge base. The templates instruct it to say openly when it's missing a piece of information and then to offer a callback. Check this yourself in the demonstration: ask something that isn't in the prompt.
Does the agent understand dialects and accents?
The speech recognition is designed for natural speech on the phone. How well it understands your callers' dialect is shown most reliably by a test call with exactly those callers. Technical terms and names that are often misunderstood go into the prompt.
How natural does the voice sound?
There are over 100 voices to choose from, including over 50 premium voices. Play two or three voices during the conversation and let the customer choose. We set up a custom voice on request, see Languages and voices.
How quickly does the agent respond?
Don't give a number. Let the customer call the demo assistant, and they'll experience the pace themselves.
Data protection and hosting
Where is the data processed?
Web interfaces, data storage and real-time communication run in Frankfurt am Main. We obtain the language models via an inference broker, and some of its providers are based in the USA. The providers and the bases for transfer are listed in the data processing agreement, see Hosting and data.
Is there a data processing agreement?
Yes. The agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is incorporated when the contract is concluded and is available in German. When reselling, you conclude your own agreement with your customer, see DPA for referral and resale.
Are calls recorded?
bhomy doesn't store any audio recordings. What's stored is the transcript, for 30 days, after which bhomy deletes it automatically. If a caller declines the recording, bhomy doesn't store a transcript for that call, provided the matching setting is switched on, see Privacy and data.
We're bound by professional secrecy. Is that possible?
Yes. For customers bound by professional secrecy, such as practices and law firms, bhomy provides a confidentiality undertaking under Section 203 of the German Criminal Code (StGB).
Testing, price and term
Can we try it out first?
Yes, with your demo assistant. You set it up with the customer's details, and the customer tests it for up to 14 days, see Try bhomy yourself. A customer account of their own starts with a paid plan.
What does bhomy cost?
Starter costs €89 a month with annual payment or €109 with monthly payment, with 500 minutes. Pro costs €279 or €339, with 2,000 minutes. Individual starts at €499 a month. All prices are net plus VAT. Always state prices with the date of the price list, see bhomy.ai/en/pricing (opens in a new tab).
How long do we commit for?
The contract runs for one month or twelve months, depending on the payment interval, renews for the same period and can be cancelled at the end of the current period.
What happens if the minutes aren't enough?
Then, if desired, bhomy automatically adds a pack of 100 minutes for €15 as soon as 90% has been used, and the agent keeps taking calls without interruption. If the automatic option is off, the agent pauses until a pack is booked, see Subscription and billing.
Are there setup costs?
The customer can do the setup themselves, you can offer it as your own service, or they book a setup package from bhomy, see Setup packages.
Integrations
Does the agent book appointments in our calendar?
Yes, via Cal.com. The customer connects Google Calendar and Outlook in Cal.com so that busy times are taken into account, see Booking appointments.
Does it go into our CRM?
Connections to CRM and ERP systems and to Shopify work via webhooks, directly or via n8n, Make and Zapier. Which systems will soon be connected natively is described under Integrations.
Acceptance
Do our customers even want to talk to an AI?
The caller reaches someone who takes their request instead of a voicemail or a busy signal. The templates contain the notice that an AI system is speaking. In the Pro and Individual plans, the agent connects to a person on request, and in every plan it takes a callback request. A good entry is forwarding only when nobody answers. Then the agent doesn't replace a colleague, it replaces the voicemail. Let the customer experience for themselves as a caller in the demonstration how it feels.
What will our team say?
Show the team what reaches them after a call: summary, request and contact details by email. The agent takes over routine work, and the conversations that need experience stay with the team.
Competition and building it yourself
We're comparing several providers at the moment.
Compare factually, with source and date, and without running down other providers. Ask the customer to call both agents with the same question. What counts is their use case, not a feature list.
Can't we build this ourselves?
That's possible. It involves telephony, speech recognition, a language model, speech output, hosting, monitoring, contracts with every provider and ongoing maintenance. bhomy brings this together, with a dashboard, billing and a data processing agreement. Ask who in the company would look after the in-house build in the long run.
Internal coordination
I need to discuss this internally.
Ask with whom, and what that person needs to know. Offer to run the next meeting together, and send the relevant pages in advance: Hosting and data for data protection, SIP phone systems for IT, the price list for management.
Questions customers rarely ask
These points often only come up after the purchase. Address them beforehand, and there won't be any surprises later.
