Refunds and cancellations
What happens to your commission when a customer cancels or a payment is refunded, how reversals work and what applies when the partner agreement ends.
Commission is paid for invoices that the customer has paid and that stay paid. If a payment is refunded or charged back, the commission for it no longer applies. This page shows how that works and what applies when a customer cancels or your partner agreement ends.
When a customer cancels
| Route | What happens |
|---|---|
| Referring | The customer cancels under Billing › Manage Subscription › Cancel Subscription. The subscription runs until the end of the term, and there's no pro rata refund. You receive commission up to the last paid invoice |
| Reselling | You cancel the customer account in the partner area, effective at the end of its billing period. Until then, it keeps running, and as with direct customers there's no pro-rata refund |
A cancellation can be withdrawn until the end of the term. The commission then continues without you having to do anything.
When a payment is refunded or charged back
| Timing | Consequence |
|---|---|
| The commission is still pending or available | It's reversed and no longer applies, with no further consequence |
| The commission has already been settled | We offset the reversal in the next credit note, as a negative item with a reference to the earlier credit note. The VAT is corrected |
| The reversal hasn't been offset after 3 months | You receive a correction document for the open amount and repay it within 14 days |
| Your tax status has changed since then | The reversal appears in a separate correction document and is offset against the next payout |
If there's a dispute about a payment, such as a chargeback procedure with the card provider, the commission remains pending until the dispute has ended.
When the partner agreement ends
The partner agreement runs for an indefinite period. Either side can terminate it with 1 month's notice to the end of a month, and you can also do this directly in the partner area. You cancel Partner Plus on its own at the end of the billing month, and the partner agreement then continues, see Become a partner. When the partner agreement ends:
- we deactivate the partner link, recruitment link, partner code and demo minutes, end Partner Plus and release the phone numbers of your partner account,
- you remove references to the partnership within 30 days, such as logos and "bhomy Partner" on your website,
- the commission from recruiting partners ends,
- your referral customers remain bhomy customers, and their contracts continue.
Does your commission continue?
| Who terminates | Commission for your referral customers |
|---|---|
| bhomy terminates with notice | continues as long as the customers pay, at the rate on the last day of the agreement |
| You terminate for good cause for which bhomy is responsible | continues as above |
| You terminate because a change to the conditions takes effect | continues as above, at the previous values |
| You terminate with notice | ends when the agreement ends |
| bhomy terminates for good cause | ends when the agreement ends |
For payments received before the end, we settle the commission in any case, even if the holding period only expires afterwards. Continuing commission lapses if none of the customers concerned has paid an invoice for 12 consecutive months.
Final settlement and documents
Without continuing commission, we prepare a final settlement after the last holding period, even below the minimum amount. If the commission continues, we settle monthly or at the end of the quarter as usual, and the final settlement follows when it lapses. Until the partner account is closed, you can download your credit notes in the partner area. After that, we provide them on request for as long as we're required to keep them.
When reselling
Your customer accounts continue during a run-off period of at least 3 months, at the discount that last applied. Your customers remain your customers. All the rules are under Requirements for resellers.
