Build a customer demo
A demo agent with your prospect's name, services and questions in 15 minutes. Preparation, setup, testing and what happens after the demonstration.
An agent that answers with the prospect's company name and knows their services convinces more than any general demonstration. This is how you build it in your partner account, in about 15 minutes.
What you collect beforehand
| Detail | Where from |
|---|---|
| Company name, address, opening hours | the prospect's website or legal notice |
| Services and, if public, prices | website, price list as a PDF |
| Three typical questions from callers | from the first phone call, see Script for inbound leads |
| The first use case | answering calls, booking appointments or organising callbacks |
| Industry | for the matching template, see Use cases by industry |
Only use publicly available information or information the prospect has given you themselves.
1. Create a demo assistant
- Sign in to your partner account and create a new agent. Name it after the prospect, for example "Demo Sommer practice".
- On the Personality tab, click Choose prompt and choose the type and the industry.
- Confirm with Overwrite prompt.
In the free partner account, the greeting of your demo assistants is fixed. That's why you put the prospect's name into the prompt there. With Partner Plus, you write it directly into the greeting, with the notice that an AI system is speaking.
2. Tailor the prompt to the prospect
- Fill in the parts in square brackets: company name, address, opening hours, contact person.
- Enter the services, using the terms the prospect uses on their website.
- Add the three typical questions with answers.
- Write into the prompt what should happen after the conversation, for example "Take the name, phone number and request and promise a callback".
Help with the structure is under Writing a good prompt.
3. Add knowledge and tools
| Tool | When it's worthwhile |
|---|---|
| Knowledge base | price list, menu or service description as a PDF, if the prospect gets many detailed questions |
| Appointments | if booking appointments is the trigger. Use a Cal.com event type from your own calendar |
| Email after the call | always. The summary in the inbox is one of the strongest moments of the demonstration |
| Transfer | if the prospect needs Pro. In the demonstration, connect to your mobile |
4. Assign a number and test
- Assign a phone number to the demo assistant, see Connect a phone number. Without a number, you demonstrate it in the browser.
- Test it first in the browser and then with a real call from your mobile.
- Ask the three typical questions, ask for an appointment and for something that isn't in the prompt. The agent should then say openly that it doesn't know and offer a callback.
- Read the transcript in the Call History and correct whatever doesn't fit.
5. In the demonstration
- Let the prospect call themselves, with their mobile and their own questions.
- Then show the transcript, the summary and the captured data.
- Change a small detail live, such as an opening time, and let them call again.
Which moments make the strongest impression is described under Wow moments.
After the demonstration
| Decision | Next step |
|---|---|
| The prospect still wants to test | Give them the demo assistant for up to 14 days, see trial access, and arrange an appointment shortly before it ends |
| They decide to go ahead with a referral | They sign up via your partner link, together via screen sharing, and create their own agent. You transfer the prompt and documents from your demo assistant |
| They decide to go ahead with reselling | You create a customer account for them in the partner area, see Requirements for resellers |
