What to look forWhy
Pace and clarityOn the phone, being understood matters more than expression
Fit with your brandA law firm sounds different from a bike shop
Language of the voiceA voice sounds most natural in its native language
Test with a real callA voice sounds different over the phone line than in the browser

You set how fast your agent speaks under Call Settings › Speech speed.

Prompt and language

Where possible, write the prompt in the language your agent speaks. For a multilingual agent, write it in your main language. bhomy itself instructs the agent to answer in the caller's language.

The agent pronounces names, technical terms and abbreviations the way they appear in the prompt. If the pronunciation is off, write difficult words the way they are said, for example "aitch-vac" instead of "HVAC".

Dashboard language

The dashboard language is independent of your agent's language. You set it under Account › Regional › Language. The dashboard is available in the same nine languages.

Frequently asked questions

Does the agent understand dialects and accents?

Yes, usually well. Strong dialects or poor connections can distort individual words. The transcript shows what the agent understood. If you specify it in the prompt, the agent asks the caller to confirm important details such as names and numbers.

Can an agent switch languages in the middle of a call?

In Multi-Language mode, yes: if the caller switches language, the agent follows. With a fixed language, it stays with that language.
