Connecting Yeastar with bhomy

Set up your agent as a peer trunk in a Yeastar phone system and route calls to it with inbound and outbound routes.

In a Yeastar P-Series phone system, you connect bhomy as a peer trunk, that is without registration. With inbound and outbound routes, you define when a call goes to your agent.

Requirements

  • a Yeastar P-Series phone system with access to the web portal
  • in bhomy, the number under which your agent should be reachable, see SIP numbers

Creating a peer trunk

  1. In the phone system's web portal, open Extension and Trunk › Trunk and click Add.
  2. Choose Peer Trunk as the trunk type and enter the Destination address (origination) from the bhomy dashboard as the hostname, port 5060.
  3. Choose UDP or TCP as the transport.
  4. If you've turned on Secure incoming calls in bhomy, enter the username and password from bhomy as the credentials.
  5. Set the codec to G.711, A-law or μ-law.
  6. Save the trunk.

Routing calls to the agent

  1. Under Call Control › Outbound Route, create a route that sends calls to the agent's number through the bhomy trunk.
  2. In your number's Inbound Route, choose the agent's external number as the destination, for all calls or only outside office hours.
  3. Alternatively, set the agent's number as the destination on timeout of a queue or ring group.

Make sure the phone system sends the original caller's number when forwarding. Only then does bhomy see who's calling, and an SMS after the call reaches the right person.

Testing

  1. Call your number and let the call run into the case you've set up.
  2. Your agent answers. In bhomy, the status changes to Active, and the Call History shows the caller's number.
