Connecting Telnyx with bhomy
Connect a Telnyx number to your agent via an FQDN connection, for inbound and outbound calls.
If you have a number with Telnyx, you connect it directly to bhomy via a SIP connection of the FQDN type. Inbound calls then go to your agent, and it can also make outbound calls via Telnyx if you want.
Requirements
- a Telnyx account with a phone number
- for outbound calls, an Outbound Voice Profile at Telnyx
- in bhomy, the number created under Connect SIP number, see SIP numbers
Creating the connection at Telnyx
- Log in to the Telnyx portal and open Voice › SIP Trunking.
- Click Create SIP connection, give it a name such as "bhomy" and choose the type FQDN.
- With Add FQDN, add the Destination address (origination) from the bhomy dashboard, only the hostname without
sip:. - Under Outbound calls authentication, enter a username and password. bhomy uses these credentials for outbound calls.
- In the inbound settings, set Destination number format and Origination number format to +E.164. TCP is recommended as the transport.
- In the outbound settings, choose your Outbound Voice Profile.
- Link your phone number to the new connection and save.
Entering it in bhomy
| Field in bhomy | Value |
|---|---|
| Number | your Telnyx number, such as +49401234567 |
| Termination address | sip.telnyx.com |
| Username and Password | the credentials from step 4 |
Then confirm in the number's settings with Confirm for outbound calls that the number belongs to you.
Testing
- Call your Telnyx number from a mobile phone. Your agent answers, and the status in bhomy changes to Active.
- On the Outbound tab, start a test call to your own number, with the Telnyx number as the sender.
Common problems
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Calls don't arrive | Check that the number is assigned to the FQDN connection and that the destination address is entered without sip: and without typos |
| The number arrives without a plus sign | Set the number format to +E.164 |
| Outbound calls are rejected | Check the username and password and whether an Outbound Voice Profile is assigned to the connection |
