Connecting Twilio with bhomy

Connect a Twilio number to your agent via an Elastic SIP Trunk, with origination for inbound and termination for outbound calls.

If you have a number with Twilio, you connect it to bhomy via Elastic SIP Trunking. Origination sends inbound calls to your agent, and termination accepts its outbound calls.

Requirements

  • a Twilio account with a phone number
  • in bhomy, the number created under Connect SIP number, see SIP numbers

Creating the trunk at Twilio

  1. In the Twilio console, open Elastic SIP Trunking › Trunks and click Create new SIP Trunk. Give it a name such as "bhomy".
  2. Open the Origination tab and click Add new Origination URI.
  3. Enter the full SIP URI from the bhomy dashboard and append ;transport=tcp, such as sip:abc123.sip.livekit.cloud;transport=tcp. Save.
  4. For outbound calls: open the Termination tab and create a Termination SIP URI, such as bhomy-company.pstn.twilio.com.
  5. Under Authentication, create a Credential List with a username and password and assign it to the trunk.
  6. Open the Numbers tab and add your phone number to the trunk.

Entering it in bhomy

Field in bhomyValue
Numberyour Twilio number, such as +493012345678
Termination addressyour termination SIP URI from step 4, such as bhomy-company.pstn.twilio.com
Username and Passwordthe credentials of the credential list

Then confirm in the number's settings with Confirm for outbound calls that the number belongs to you.

Testing

  1. Call your Twilio number. Your agent answers, and the status in bhomy changes to Active.
  2. On the Outbound tab, start a test call to your own number.
