SMS isn't delivered
The SMS after the call doesn't arrive, goes to the wrong number, arrives in several parts or is missing despite consent.
bhomy sends SMS after the call to the caller or to a fixed number, with BHOMY AI as the sender. Every SMS appears in the call history in the Logs tab with Sent or Failed.
The SMS doesn't arrive
| Possible cause | Solution |
|---|---|
| The caller called from a landline | SMS only reach mobile numbers. Add to the prompt that the agent asks for a mobile number if an SMS is to follow |
| The caller's number is withheld | No number, no recipient. The agent then asks for one |
| Opt-in required is on and the caller didn't agree | Intended: the SMS only goes out if the caller agreed during the call |
| The Condition wasn't met | Leave the field empty if the SMS should always be sent |
| The recipient's phone blocks sender names | Some devices or plans filter out SMS with sender names. Ask the recipient whether a filter is active |
How to test it: Use Send test SMS to send a message to your own mobile number.
The SMS goes to the wrong number
| Possible cause | Solution |
|---|---|
| With call forwarding, your own number arrives | Set your provider or phone system to pass on the original caller's number, see Call forwarding |
| Recipient type Fixed number instead of Dynamic (caller number) | Check the recipient type in the SMS tool |
The SMS arrives in several parts
An SMS holds 160 characters. Characters outside the standard GSM alphabet, such as emojis or some accented letters, reduce this to 70. Longer messages are sent as several SMS and are usually put back together on the recipient's phone. Variables such as {{summary}} can get long. Keep the SMS short and refer to an email or a callback for details.
The appointment confirmation is missing
Confirmations for booked appointments are sent by the calendar tool, not the SMS tool. What can go wrong there is described under Appointments.
