Web search

Your agent looks up current information on the internet during the conversation, across the whole web or only on sites you allow.

With web search, your agent answers questions whose answers change or aren't in your documents: availability in your online shop, current news, details about a place. You decide where it may search and when.

Setting up web search

  1. Open your agent and switch to the Tools tab.
  2. Under Tools, click Add and choose Web Search.
  3. Choose the Search mode: Full web or Specific sites only.
  4. With Specific sites only: enter your domains under Allowed domains, such as bhomy.ai or shop.example.com.
  5. Under When should the search be triggered?, describe when the agent searches.
  6. Optional: enter a Waiting text that the agent says during the search.
  7. Save.

When the agent searches

bhomy passes what you enter under When should the search be triggered? to the agent as an instruction. The more precise it is, the more targeted the search:

"If the caller asks about prices, variants or availability of a product you don't know.""If you don't know something."
"If the caller asks about events on our website.""For questions."

Full webgeneral questions, for example about traffic, weather or placesAnswers can come from sources you don't check

Besides the general search, the agent also finds current news and details about places, such as a shop's address and opening hours.

Waiting time and cost

A search takes about two to five seconds. A Waiting text such as "One moment, let me check" bridges the time so that the caller doesn't hear silence.

A search costs €0.01. The dashboard shows the amount under Cost per search.

You can combine both. Say in the prompt which source takes priority, for example: "Answer questions from the knowledge base first. Only if there's nothing there, search our website."
